Human Microbiota Extracts 4 - Clardy Lab

Members of Dr. Jon Clardy’s laboratory (Harvard Medical School) assembled a library of partially purified extracts from isolates from >50 members of the human gut microbiota. These include Gram-negative and Gram-positive organisms, and in some cases multiple strains of the same species have been fractionated. Each microbe was cultured in at least 2 media conditions, and there are fifteen extracts per bacterium, per culture medium used. This library was plated and added to the ICCB-Longwood collection in October 2020.

Species included are Ruminococcus gnavus (12 strains), Blautia producta, Blautia obeum (2 strains), Lachnospiraceae species 2_1_58FAA, Dorea longicatena, Coprococcus comes, Eubacterium eligens, Eubacterium fissicatena/contortum, Eubacterium rectale, Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, Ruminococcus torques, Clostridium scindens, Clostridium innocuum, Citrobacter freundii, Lactococcus lactis cremoris, Lactococcus lactis lactis, Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus thermophilus, Streptococcus parasanguinis, Enterococcus avium, Bifidobacterium breve, Bifidobacterium longum, Bifidobacterium pseudocatenulatum, Bacteroides disastonis, Bacteroides caccae, Bacteroides dorei, Bacteroides eggerthi, Bacteroides finegoldii, Bacteroides fragilis (3 strains), Bacteroides ovatus, Akkermansia muciniphila, Eggerthella lenta (3 strains), Eggerthella sinensis, Sutterella wadsworthensis, Morganella morganii, and Escherichia fergusonii.
