Brazilian Mushrooms and Ants Bacterial Extracts 5

Members of Dr. Jon Clardy’s laboratory (Harvard Medical School) assembled a fraction library of natural products derived from bacterial strains associated with Brazilian mushrooms and ants, and more recently from Floridian marine egg masses: Streptomyces sp., Amycolatopsis sp., Burkholderia sp., Kitasatospora sp., Pseudonocardia sp., Nocardia sp., and other symbionts. Each extract has been fractionated into eight reduced complexity fractions. This library was plated and added to the ICCB-Longwood collection in January 2020.

Screening positives that have been confirmed by follow-up experiments on cherry picked samples can be further fractionated via a collaboration with the lab of Dr. Jon Clardy (Harvard Medical School). Please contact Jennifer Smith to arrange for purification of “hit” compounds from extract samples.

This library requires permission before screening. ICCB-Longwood screeners interested in screening this library should contact Jennifer Smith for more details.
