High-Content Microscopy Image Analysis

The ICCB-Longwood High Content Screening Microscope Suite has four image analysis workstations available for viewing and analyzing the data from the high content screening microscopes, each with the MetaXpress software installed and 3 with IN Carta installed.

Software for High Content Screening

Molecular Devices MetaXpress

  • MetaXpress enables users to select a standard image analysis routine or develop custom protocols to fit specific image analysis needs.
  • Provides users with a range of tools to automate acquisition, processing, and analysis of cellular images
  • Optional application-specific software modules for common assays are also available

Molecular Devices IN Carta

  • Create simple or complex analysis protocols tailored to experiment requirements
  • Optional image pre-processing and object mask post-processing at each step
  • Batch analysis of multiple experiments
  • 3D analysis
  • SINAP
    • Module with deep learning algorithms for segmenting objects
    • Useful for transmitted light, highly confluent, or low-signal images
    • Models are iteratively trained by scientist drawing over images
  • Phenoglyphs
    • Analyzes hundreds of cellular features simultaneously to create a comprehensive phenotypic profile and resolve subtle phenotypic changes
    • Classification is confirmed or corrected by scientist until predictions are correct
