Echo 655

Non-Contact Dispenser

Echo 655

The Beckman Coulter Echo 655 is an acoustic, non-contact dispenser that is ideally suited for creating assay ready plates for custom library screening, as well as titration and combinatorial experiments. Using Echo-compatible source plates, it can deliver to a variety of different destination plate types and densities.

The purchase of this instrument was made possible through support from the Harvard Medical School Translator, Laboratory of Systems Pharmacology, and Department of Systems Biology, and Dr. Eric Fischer at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Description and Location

Description:

  • Compatible with skirted or semi-skirted SBS standard destination plates that are 8-16 mm in height.
  • Uses proprietary source plates, with dead volumes as low as 2.5 uL.
  • Rapidly dispenses volumes from 2.5 nL to 500 nL to any individual well in either prefilled* or unfilled destination plates via droplet ejections of 2.5 or 25 nL.
  • Capable of dispensing DMSO-dissolved compounds and aqueous solutions.
  • Conducts dynamic fluid analysis prior to and during dispense runs.

*Max destination plate well volume dependent on well density and surface tension.

Screening

The Echo is ideal for creating assay-ready plates in which cells and/or reagents can later be added to at the time of screening. It enables scientists to design and screen custom libraries via selecting the compounds to be screened, concentration(s) to be tested, and indicating destination plate layout. It also works well for conducting dose-response and combinatorial experiments.
