#  NINDS Custom Collection 2 

 



This collection of characterized bioactive compounds was originally compiled by [MicroSource Discovery Systems](http://www.msdiscovery.com/) for the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke ([NINDS](http://ninds.nih.gov/)), the Huntington’s Disease Society of America ([HDSA](http://www.hdsa.org/)), the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis ([ALS](http://www.alsa.org/)) Association, and the Hereditary Disease Foundation ([HDF](http://www.hdfoundation.org/)). Three quarters of the compounds in the collection are FDA-approved and the rest – which include some controlled substances such as cannabinoids – are known to influence brain activity.

The current collection (NINDS Custom Collection 2) was purchased in 2006 jointly by ICCB-Longwood and the NERCE/NSRB infectious disease screening program.

Please note there is at least 73% compound overlap between Microsource 1 – US Drug Collection and NINDS Custom Collection 2.
