#  Human Microbiota Extracts 4 - Clardy Lab 

 



Members of Dr. Jon Clardy’s laboratory (Harvard Medical School) assembled a library of partially purified extracts from isolates from &gt;50 members of the human gut microbiota. These include Gram-negative and Gram-positive organisms, and in some cases multiple strains of the same species have been fractionated. Each microbe was cultured in at least 2 media conditions, and there are fifteen extracts per bacterium, per culture medium used. This library was plated and added to the ICCB-Longwood collection in October 2020.

Species included are *Ruminococcus gnavus* (12 strains), *Blautia producta*, *Blautia obeum* (2 strains), *Lachnospiraceae* species 2\_1\_58FAA, *Dorea longicatena*, *Coprococcus comes*, *Eubacterium eligens*, *Eubacterium fissicatena/contortum*, *Eubacterium rectale*, *Faecalibacterium prausnitzii*, *Ruminococcus torques*, *Clostridium scindens*, *Clostridium innocuum,* *Citrobacter freundii*, *Lactococcus lactis cremoris*, *Lactococcus lactis lactis*, *Streptococcus mutans*, *Streptococcus thermophilus*, *Streptococcus parasanguinis*, *Enterococcus avium*, *Bifidobacterium breve*, *Bifidobacterium longum*, *Bifidobacterium pseudocatenulatum*, *Bacteroides disastonis*, *Bacteroides caccae*, *Bacteroides dorei*, *Bacteroides eggerthi*, *Bacteroides finegoldii*, *Bacteroides fragilis* (3 strains), *Bacteroides ovatus*, *Akkermansia muciniphila*, *Eggerthella lenta* (3 strains), *Eggerthella sinensis*, *Sutterella wadsworthensis*, *Morganella morganii*, and *Escherichia fergusonii*.

Screening positives that have been confirmed by follow-up experiments on cherry picked samples can be further fractionated via a collaboration with the lab of Dr. Jon Clardy (Harvard Medical School).
