The ICCB-Longwood screening facility has a tissue culture area approved
for work with BL2 pathogens. It includes:
- A 6ft. tissue culture hood, which houses a Matrix WellMate liquid handling robot to dispense tissue culture cells into
assay plates.
- Three ThermoForma tissue culture incubators. One is equipped
with a circulating chiller able to maintain incubator temperature
between 20ºC and 42ºC.
- A clinical centrifuge, an inverted microscope, and a 37ºC water
bath for use while passaging and preparing cells for assays.

For information about reserving tissue culture incubator space
or hood time, please contact the screening
room staff. If you plan to use BL2 pathogens in our facility,
you must provide your Harvard Committee on Microbiological Safety
- Committee for the Regulation of Hazardous Biological Agents (COMS-CRHBA)
permit number to the Director, ICCB-Longwood.
Invitrogen Countess Automated Cell Counter
