Technology: Screening Facility

Collage

The ICCB-Longwood Screening Facility, located in SGM 613 and 610, provides small molecule libraries and equipment for high-throughput screening of chemical libraries, and it also develops HTS technology. The screening facility has the following equipment and resources available for use by investigators:

  • Robotics for pin transfer of compounds from library stock plates to assay plates.
  • Plate readers with luminescence, fluorescence, fluorescence polarization, time-resolved fluorescence, and absorbance detection capability.
  • Screening microscopes that image wells from 96- and 384-well assay plates.
  • Automated plate washers.
  • Liquid handling robots for filling assay plates.
  • Tissue culture hoods and incubators.
  • Multichannel pipettes.
  • Plate Sealer and Bar Code Labeler

An outline of the guidelines for waste disposal at the ICCBL can be found here (pdf)
