The “Hit Picker” at the ICCB-L/NSRB Screening Facility is comprised of two instruments, the Tecan EVO75 Liquid Handling Platform (left), and a Velocity11 2x BenchCel Stacker, integrated together using Visual Basic programming. The EVO75 has 2 independent disposable tips (DiTis) and is capable of picking a maximum of 300 wells per hour. A bar code reader has been incorporated into the system for tracking plates and real-time error detection. The Hit Picker can accommodate both 96 and 384-well plates, and volumes from 1 – 250uL. A comma separated (.csv) input file is used as the source for the picks. This integrated system is our solution for all of our small molecule and siRNA hit picking needs in the lab
